Instrument and Supplies Needed for Beginning Band

Perhaps the most important consideration in getting a band instrument for a beginner is to get one that works well and is in good playing condition.  All too often “bargain” instruments are difficult to play.  Trying to learn on an instrument that will not play well serves only to frustrate the student and lead to their decision to give up on music. If you are looking at a used instrument, feel free to contact me with the brand and model number. I will be happy to help you evaluate the quality.

A popular approach is to use a trial rental program such as are offered at several area music stores.  This way you have access to an instrumental without a large initial investment.  I have listed an area store that is dependable and also has repair services.
